Weekend checklist to maximize your miles and points

Going to try something a little different here. This newsletter is your weekend miles and points checklist. Think of it as a reminder for things you need to get done this weekend to maximize your points.

Switch Your Rakuten Account to Payout as Bilt Points

The next Rakuten payout is tomorrow, 11/15! If you want to earn that payout as Bilt points, you need to link your Bilt account to Rakuten through the Bilt app and set your Rakuten payment method to Bilt.

  1. Make a Bilt account (if you don't already have one)
  2. Download the Bilt app
  3. Go to REWARDS at the bottom of the app
  4. Go to EVERYDAY REWARDS at the top of the app
  5. You should see a Rakuten option on the screen

⚠️ Make sure your Rakuten account and Bilt account use the same email!

$10 in Rakuten cashback = 1,000 Bilt points!

If you don't have a Rakuten account, using my referral link can earn you an extra 5,000 Bilt points or $50 cash back.

American Airlines AAdvantage 7,500 Miles Sale

American Airlines is running a great sale on domestic and international award flights. Most travel dates fall during the cold winter months, so it might be a good time to book a trip to escape the snow or cold weather.

Perfect Time for a Double-Dip

This time of year is a great opportunity to maximize credit card benefits. Many cards offer "coupons" or benefits tied to the calendar year. By signing up now, you can pay the annual fee once and take advantage of some perks twice within the same year.

Take, for example this is what a double-dip would look like:

November 2025: Applied for this card and paid the annual fee

November-December 2025:

  • $200 airline fee credit ✓
  • $300 hotel credit (book for future stay) ✓
  • $100 Resy credit ✓
  • $75 Lululemon credit ✓
  • $50 Saks credit ✓
  • $35 Uber credit (December bonus) ✓
  • $25 digital entertainment credit ✓

Throughout 2026:

  • $200 airline fee credit ✓
  • $600 hotel credits (2 x $300 semi-annual) ✓
  • $400 Resy credits (4 quarters) ✓
  • $300 Lululemon credits (4 quarters) ✓
  • $100 Saks credits (2 x $50 semi-annual) ✓
  • $195 Uber credits (12 months, including December) ✓
  • $300 digital entertainment credits (12 months) ✓

November 2026: Annual fee posts

So all the benefits between November and December 2025 are a bonus!

Here are a few cards I think this would work best for, because they are big, coupon-style credit cards.
