Last-Minute Award Availability to Asia

Recently, business class award availability to Asia has been scarce, but it appears that United and its Star Alliance partners have released a significant amount of last-minute award space in business class to Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. When I say "last minute," I mean you'll need to depart within the next two weeks. This deal is primarily for spontaneous travelers. On some of the flights, up to 9 seats are available.

Unfortunately, the award availability on the return flight doesn't look great, so you might need to fly back in economy.

Here are some really quick sample dates I pulled from seats.aero

$30 for $30 Rakuten Referrals are Back

Rakuten brought back their referral bonuses a couple of days ago!

If you sign up through a referral (my referral link) and spend $30, you'll get $30 back.

The cool thing about Rakuten is that instead of earning cash back, you can choose to earn Amex points. So, $30 would be equivalent to 3,000 Amex points.

Currently my two favorite offers on Rakuten is the Dell 15% cash back (or 15x Amex Points) and the Blue Apron $50 cash back (or 5,000 Amex Points).

For the Dell offer it's stackable with the Amex Business Platinum $200 Dell credit. If you spend the $200 Amex Business Platinum Dell credit and go through Rakuten, you can earn an extra 3,000 Amex points on your purchase and another 3,000 Amex points from the referral bonus.
