New Entry Requirements for the UK: What You Need to Know

If you’re planning a trip to the UK—or even just connecting through it—you’ll need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).

Applying is simple: download the official UK ETA app, fill out the online form, and pay the £10 fee. The ETA is valid for 2 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first

One key detail: you need an ETA even if you only pass through the UK on a connecting flight. Without it, you may be denied boarding.

While the UK government states processing can take up to 3 days, most applicants are getting approved within an hour of submitting their application.

Take care of your ETA in advance to avoid any last-minute travel disruptions!

You can find out more information on the official UK GOV website.

Increased Welcome Offers: Hyatt & Amex Business Gold

It’s been a slow few months for card bonuses, but here are a couple of exciting offers that caught my eye:

Updated Hyatt Business Card Offer

Earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 within 3 months of account opening. Plus, get a Free Night Category 1-4 Certificate after spending $15,000 within 6 months.

This card also earns five elite qualifying nights for every $10,000 you spend. I personally use it for quarterly tax payments to rack up qualifying nights toward Globalist status—one of my favorite hotel loyalty perks!

Amex Business Gold 200,000

Amex is still offering massive welcome bonuses through select referral links, including up to 200,000 Membership Rewards points!

So it’s Amazon Prime Day. (Well, technically it runs from July 8–11) And honestly? Not a whole lot that’s catching my eye right now. A lot of “deals” feel like marked-up stuff that have been discounted. BUT there are a couple of items that are genuinely worth considering, especially if you travel. Here’s what I’ve got: The links below are my Amazon affiliate links, using these links help support my work! 1. We might be cooked. Okay, maybe not totally cooked, but the credit card points game is definitely trending in the wrong direction lately. A few negative updates have rolled out over the last couple weeks, and if you’re not paying attention, they could cost you points. Here’s what’s going on: New Referral Restrictions (Really Sneaky Ones) Starting October 7, 2025, a certain bank (you know the one… the one I can’t mention) is making it harder to earn referral points for their business credit...

American Airlines is one of the few major U.S. airlines that doesn’t partner with any major transferable credit card point programs. No Chase, no Amex, no Capital One, no Bilt, nothing. But just because you can’t transfer your points directly to AA doesn’t mean you can’t still use your points to fly on American Airlines flights. In this week’s episode of Book Here, Not There, I show you how to book an American Airlines flight from LAX to D.C. using your credit card points—without touching a...
